Curious Learners Childcare provides weekly planning for each upcoming week through the Famly app. This allows parents/guardians to stay informed about the exciting activities and learning experiences planned for their child.

The outdoor area is a well-planned learning environment that enables children to progress across the seven areas of learning and development. Children are encouraged to play outside in all weathers, as staff plan activities to make the most of the learning opportunities provided by changes in weather conditions.
At Curious Learners Childcare we understand that routines are important as they give all children a sense of security and stability. Routines help children feel safe and secure in their environment. Children will gain an understanding of everyday events and procedures and learn what is expected of them as routine makes their environment more predictable. This is a general guide to our daily routine, it is however dependent on each individual child’s needs and therefore we can be flexible.

Parent Partnership
Consistent communication with parents is a vital part of daily Nursery life. Through using the Famly App (that can be downloaded on to any smart phone or tablet) we can keep all parents updated on a real time basis about their child’s activities during the day and their general overall development at Nursery. In effect it allows the parents to both closely follow and take part in their child’s Learning Journey. As part of our partnership with parents and to maintain our ‘Family feel’ at Nursery, we encourage parents to occasionally join in our Nursery activity days with workshops, training and talks.
Safety and Security
The safety and security of our children
is of paramount importance to us and access
to the Nursery is strictly controlled and monitored at all times.
We have separate entrance doors to each room setting.
Visitors
All visitors at the Nursery are required to sign the visitor’s book
on arrival and present photographic identification.
Any persons on the premises, be it for maintenance/servicing,
visits or meetings, are always supervised by a member of staff at all times.
Collection of children
Our Staff adhere to strict policies and procedures regarding the authorisation for collection of children. We have a parent sign in / sign out procedure through our Family App and request any additional guardians / friends/family member who are collecting children must bring photo identification and nursery password. Prior notification of a new person collecting is required.
Staff Vetting
All employees at Curious Learners Childcare have passed a strict vetting process through the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS). It is also compulsory for each new employee to go through a formal induction process, where, amongst other things, training is given on each of our Nursery Policies and Procedures in order to guarantee consistency of care and in Health & Safety to ensure a safe working environment for staff and children alike.
Health and Safety
Curious Learners Childcare has a well-defined Health and Safety Policy in place, with associated procedures designed to guarantee your child’s safety and security at all times. Each of our 2 early-years rooms, as well as our outdoor areas, are fully risk assessed on a regular basis to ensure the Nursery environment is safe and secure.
A significant part of our Duty of Care is to teach the children about keeping themselves safe. As such, regular discussions and activities around subjects including road safety and ‘stranger danger’ are built into our early-years curriculum.
Meet Our Warm and Friendly Team
All staff within the Nursery are carefully selected for their ability to care for young children and their friendly approach.
Our team members hold a valid enhanced DBS check and are continually vetted to meet Safeguarding requirements.
Practitioners are Paediatric First Aid trained and receive regular on-going training for Safeguarding, Food and Hygiene and Health and Safety.

Owner/Director
Magdalena is a dedicated co-founder of Curious Learners Childcare, leveraging her extensive experience and expertise in early childhood education. With a Master's Degree in Early Years and KS1, as well as a Level 8 qualification in Childcare, Magdalena has honed her skills through over 19 years of professional experience as a KS1 Teacher, Nursery Practitioner, and Childminder. Her commitment to providing a nurturing, 'home from home' environment has been integral to the transformation of the Nursery from a Childminding setting. Magdalena's leadership and passion for early childhood development are evident in the high-quality educational experiences offered at Curious Learners Childcare.
Kelly Gammage
Manager
Kelly is a passionate Nursery Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead at Curious Learners Childcare, bringing over twenty years of experience in Early Years education. With a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, she has grown her expertise through a rewarding journey that began as a Nursery Assistant and has blossomed into a series of leadership roles. Kelly’s hands-on approach, caring nature, and commitment to excellence help create a warm, supportive environment where both children and staff can flourish. Her guidance and dedication are at the heart of the high-quality care and learning experiences that make Curious Learners Childcare such a special place.
